Ceramides

Ceramides are naturally occurring, skin-identical lipids that make up of approximately 50% of our skin’s protective outer layer. Coats Gentle Hydrating Cleanser contains 3 types of essential Ceramides: Ceramide AP, Ceramide NP and Ceramide EOP. All of which work together to help improve the strength of the skin barrier, boost skin elasticity and improve skin texture resulting in healthier looking skin.

Glycerin

Glycerin is a skin-identical natural moisturiser and humectant that keeps the lipids between skin cells in a healthy state, drawing hydration deep within the upper layers of the skin, protecting the skin moisture barrier, preventing irritation and providing lasting moisturization.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid is a natural moisturiser that is found naturally in skin and works as a sponge to bind and hold moisture. It provides surface hydration and forms a protective barrier on the skin. Hyaluronic Acid can bind up to 1000X its weight in water.

Mandelic Acid

Mandelic acid is an Alpha Hydroxy acid (AHA), it is a gentle yet effective exfoliator. It gently lifts off dead skin cells from the surface that results in a smoother and more even complexion. It is suitable even for sensitive skin and can be used daily in skincare.

Polyglutamic Acid

A superstar hydrator that holds 4000x its weight in water, it’s can hold 4 times more moisture than hyaluronic acid. The peptide prevents the breakdown of natural Hyaluronic Acid in the skin and forms a thin film to prevent moisture loss.

Signal Tripeptide

A peptide molecule that helps boost skin firmness and elasticity.

Squalane

Squalane occurs naturally in the sebum of skin. It has emollient properties, surface occlusion and prevents transepidermal water loss (TEWL) it's a superb moisturizer that makes skin smooth, without being heavy or greasy.

Surfactants

The gentle surfactants in Hydrating Cleanser attract the dirt, oil and sebum that accumulates on skin, lifting these impurities away from the skin and allowing them to be washed away.
